Eurabbie Estate is a small winery situated on the eastern slopes of Victoria’s Pyrenees Ranges, 3.5km from the Avoca Post Office, next to Mount Avoca vineyard.
Eurabbie is dedicated to the production of small quantities of hand crafted wines, predominantly red table wines, from fruit grown in the Pyrenees wine region.
Eurabbie Estate is owned and operated by retired journalist, John Higgins, and wife, Kerry, and is situated within 60 hectares of natural eucalypt forest.
The winery’s name, Eurabbie (U-rabb-ee) is the Dja Dja Wrung people’s name for the Victorian Blue Gum, Eucalyptus globus, sub-species bicostata, which graces the foothills of the Pyrenees. Reminders of our original inhabitants’ presence can be seen on the property where bark was taken from eucalyptus trees.
